Snowboarding through trees

Tree riding on a snowboard can be very exciting and very rewarding. Often times, the only place that has pristine powder is in between the trees. The other driving reason for riding between trees is the challenge.

Tree riding is not a sport for beginners to attempt due to the obvious danger of hitting a tree. For this reason it is absolutely essential to be wearing protective gear. At the very least this gear should include a helmet and goggles. Having a great amount of skill would be the other requisite.

When you are ready to venture off in to the trees make sure that you know where you are going and where you will be coming out. Plan your route carefully so that you do not suddenly find a cliff or get lost. It is also a good idea to have someone with you and someone else who knows where you intend to go and come out in case of a major problem.

Another important consideration is a meeting place for you and your companions. When riding through the trees it is very easy to get separated as each person will follow a slightly different path or may select a totally different path. With everyone meeting at a known point it will be easy to account for everyone.

There are a few things to keep in mind while actually riding through the trees. First off, look ahead of you as far as possible and do not look at the trees you are passing or about to pass. The further you are looking ahead the sooner you will be able to spot obstacles thus giving you more time to react to them.

It is very important to not look at the trees. Your eyes play a large role in directing your body. For this reason, if you are looking at the trees you will veer towards them. Be sure to be looking at the gaps between trees and the point that you wish to travel to.

A final consideration is your speed. While you do not want to be going at a rate of speed higher than you are confident handling, you do want to be moving as fast as possible. Moving faster will allow you to ride on the surface of the snow and thus avoiding any hidden rocks or stumps and allow you to turn faster and sharper corners.

Riding through trees is very challenging and exciting. There is not set pattern to trees meaning that each run will be different from the last on and each hill will also be different from the last one. If you are an experienced rider and are looking for more excitement then be sure to try tree riding with a group of experienced riders. You will not regret the choice.
